Roy's 'Arrow' Fate May Have Just Been Sealed

As we get ready to dive back into the last five episodes of Arrow 's third season, fans (myself included) are becoming more and more nervous regarding the fate of our most beloved characters. Thanks to the cryptic tweets from both Stephen Amell and Colton Haynes, we know without a doubt that this series will deliver a heartbreaking death, but for who? For the longest time I feared that person would be Diggle, given how well his life seems to be turning out these days. (Usually a surefire sign that something is about to go terribly wrong.) However, now I'm starting to suspect that Arsenal's Roy Harper will actually be the one Arrow kills off by the end of the season.

I know, I know, the thought by itself is unforgivable to even fathom, and yet I have this uneasy feeling that it may actually be true. I mean, it's not like I want to think this. Truth be told, I've always harbored a bit of a soft spot for Roy ever since he first stepped foot on my television screen. So this is not a subject I broach lightly. But I can't ignore the startling amount of evidence that is starting to pile up regarding Roy's potential demise, especially after this photo Arrow showrunner Marc Guggenheim recently tweeted:

Notice anyone missing from this final table read? Seriously, WHERE IS HAYNES? Why is he not there with the rest of the cast? It certainly warrants a freakout or two (or ten), and doesn't bode well for the fate of his character.

As you all know, things already weren't looking too great for poor Roy now that he's decided to turn himself in as the Arrow. In fact, the recently released trailer for the final five episodes shows Roy facing some pretty tough times in jail and no one there to offer him protection. (Memo to self: bunking with villains who think you're the one who put them in there will not earn you any points on the popularity chart.) Of course we know Oliver intends on breaking Roy out of there, but does he end up being too late?

Another thing to take into consideration is Haynes' Instagram account. We know thanks to Guggenheim's tweet, that Arrow is not yet done filming. So why was Haynes in Florida during that time?

Could this just have been a quick visit that had him back on set the following day? Maybe, if he hadn't tweeted this remark the very next day (the same day Guggenheim tweeted the table read photo, proving that he wasn't just out of the frame)…

He's on vacation? And the Arrow season is not yet fully over? WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?!?! I suppose I could try convincing myself that they shot Roy's finale scenes ahead of time — ya know, given that Roy's still in jail and not with the others, so there was simply no need for him to be there. But the truth of the matter is that this may just further signify our very worst fears. I hope I'm wrong. I pray I'm wrong. Though with all the evidence pointing to the contrary, it's getting harder and harder to stay optimistic.

Get those tissues ready, folks…
