Cap's Back in First 'Winter Soldier' Trailer

by Alanna Bennett

The trailer for the trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier came out Wednesday — along with a couple stills and a poster — but hey! Look! Now we have an actual trailer! Full of plot and real footage and shots of Sebastian Stan in a Loki-like black wig! Cap's back, y'all! And he's palling around with Natasha Romanoff and Nick Fury.

In case you were wondering if ol' Cap has fully acclimated to finding himself 70 years from his original timeline, the answer is no — he's still pretty sad his barbershop quartet is dead. Luckily (or unluckily) for him, he's got a lot on his plate to distract him, including now being an agent of SHIELD and the many, many explosions and brawls that come with that.

Brothers Anthony and Joe Russo, who directed the film, have expressed the desire that the film at least partially have that "1970s thriller vibe" while also being a gigantic superhero extravaganza, and that seems to be the vibe with this first trailer. For one, there's Robert Redford, talking cryptically about tearing down the world for the greater good (always a good indicator of a supervillain).

As of yet, there's no visual sign of Emily VanCamp's Agent 13, which is a bummer — but we can already tell from what we see here that we're gonna enjoy this snarky camaraderie between Cap and Natasha.
