Rihanna Wore A Fur Coat To Coachella Like A Boss

by Arielle Dachille

When the temperatures plummeted on Saturday evening in Indio, California, I'm sure Rihanna's first thought was, "Thank GOD I brought my full length lavender fur coat." Rihanna appeared wearing a fuzzy coat at Coachella and looked well prepared for what was probably an unexpectedly cold desert evening. Meanwhile, thousands of jort and linen crop top-clad girls shivered around her and rued the decision not to pack a light jacket. Should'a listened to Mom.

Not like a purple (faux?) fur coat is ever a bad thing to have, but having it in this circumstance is especially nice. To begin with, the danger of someone stealing her look is extremely minimal. Ankle-length fur outerwear is somehow not a typical part of the desert festival fashion uniform. Perhaps that has to do with the fact that nobody wants to carry a heavy coat around with them anywhere, least of all in the middle of the desert on a hot day. Luckily, Rihanna has handlers for that sort of thing. Then, of course, there's the fact of the matter that she's probably congratulating herself for her choice to bring something warm. I hear those deserts get blustery at night. If this outfit could talk, it would be saying: "Bring an extra layer next time, ya noobz."
