Taco Bell & 'Furious 7' Have This In Common

by Kristie Rohwedder

It’s a classic, beloved fable: Grandma and Grandpa go to Taco Bell. Grandma and Grandpa hit up the drive thru and order two Chickstars. Grandma and Grandpa can’t wait to grub, so they park the car in the parking lot. Grandma and Grandpa get to grubbing. Grandma flashes Grandpa. Grandma and Grandpa get back to grubbing the crispy chicken wraps. THE END. Oh! I almost forgot a crucial detail: When the impromptu peep show happens, a beat drops. A song plays. The party has only just begun. THE ACTUAL END. The song in the Taco Bell Chickstar ad is “Get Low” by Dillon Francis and DJ Snake. It can be found on Dillon Francis’s 2014 album Money Sucks, Friends Rule. There’s a good chance you’ve heard the song twice in one commercial break: “Get Low” is also featured in the official trailer for Furious 7.

Uh oh. Now I can't stop imagining a Fast & Furious + Taco Bell hybrid ad: A car parachutes out of an airplane, lands in a Taco Bell parking lot, does donuts while the driver chows down on a bag full of Chickstars. The driver realizes she forgot to ask for hot sauce. At that moment, “Get Low” starts to blare...

...And then! Vin Diesel pulls up next to the car in a souped up Mitsubishi Lancer. He reaches into the bag resting on the passenger seats and grabs a handful of hot sauce packets. He chucks the hot sauce packets through his window and into the driver's window. CRISIS AVERTED.
