Gisele Gets Emotional During Her Last Runway Show

by Alexa Tucker

The runway has officially lost a good one. Tonight marks supermodel Gisele Bundchen's last runway show, and it's only fitting that the chapter was closed where it all started: in her home country, Brazil. Walking in Sao Paulo Fashion Week's Colcci show (a Brazilian streetwear brand she's represented since 2005, according to ABC News), Gisele looked as good as she did when she first stepped foot on the runway at 14 years old.

Judging by the countless Instagram snaps documenting this historic moment, Gisele appeared far from ready to retire as she strut down the runway in a white dress and statement-making gladiators, but I suppose it's more about how she feels, not how she looks. "Automatically my body tells me if what I do is worth it, and it asked to stop. I respect my body, it’s a privilege to be able to stop," Gisele told a Sao Paulo newspaper, according to Yahoo! News.

Even though tonight's show marks the end of a runway era, that doesn't mean that Gisele will disappear into her castle with her adorable children and sexy football player hubby Tom Brady forever (although I couldn't blame her if she did.)

In an Instagram she posted earlier, Gisele said "Today after 20 years in the industry, it is a privilege to be doing my last fashion show by choice and yet still be working in other facets of the business."

As she took her final walk in a striped orange dress, Gisele looked emotional, and as she should be. She's had a long, incredible career already, and even though this part's over, I have no doubt she'll continue to dominate the industry in other ways.
