Thea's Storyline Takes A Huge Twist On 'Arrow'

I think it goes without saying that Arrow was not messing around this week. Not only did Roy leave Arrow (possibly for good), but now Thea has been killed by Ra's al Ghul himself. Or at least that's what those final moments during Wednesday night's episode "Broken Arrow" wanted us to think. Based on what was revealed during next week's promo, Thea could get resurrected by the Lazarus Pit. We know that these magical waters possess powerful healing properties, but other than fixing a little flesh wound on Ra's hand, we haven't really gotten to see this bad boy in action... until now, that is.

However, as is the case with most obstacles, the use of this pit will come at a very big price, in one way or another. As Ra's warns throughout the clip, these waters have a tendency to change the people who use them. So even if Thea does, in fact, come back to life, she may not be the same person we've come to know. So in a way, I suppose the old Thea really is dead. But as for what this new Thea will be like... well, that's something we'll have to wait to find out.

Then there's always the question of what it's going to take to allow Thea to be given access to the Lazarus Pit in the first place. Ra's did this for a very specific reason — all in an attempt to get Oliver to become his replacement. And it seems he's finally found the Arrow's achilles heel. He may be a vigilante, but he is first and foremost Thea's brother. He will do anything to save her. (She is, after all, the only family he has left.) So if Ra's offers Oliver a trade — use of the pit in exchange for his agreement to become the new Demon's Head — something tells me, he'd take the deal in a heartbeat.

So fasten your seat belts, folks. Because the Arrow stakes have officially been raised.
