6 Jaw-Dropping Scenes From New 'Star Wars' Trailer

by Kenya Foy

For anyone who struggled their way through the 5 stages of coping with the Star Wars: Episode VII delay after Harrison Ford broke his leg during filming last summer, I hope you've regained strength from that emotionally intense ordeal. However, if you’re still weak from that incident, you might want to brace yourselves, grab a brown paper bag in case of hyperventilation and take a seat before watching the new Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens trailer because let me tell you — it’s a bonafide jaw-dropper.

The first Star Wars: Episode VII trailer from November 2014 revealed some pretty tech-heavy features while expertly concealing most of the plot, but it was just enough to earn Star Wars fans’ overwhelming approval. While this newest action-packed teaser is unfortunately missing the rumored Benedict Cumberbatch cameo (sorry Cumberbabes), it is still quite captivating. Right about now, there are likely hordes of Star Wars fans all around the world, gleefully dancing around their living rooms or offices reciting lines from previous films, unabashedly dueling invisible opponents with their lightsabers.

But don’t judge them, guys, unless you’ve managed to quell your excitement over this new teaser, but after watching these 6 jaw-dropping scenes from the Star Wars: Episode VII trailer, I’m not sure how that’s possible.

The Fallen Star Destroyer

Yes, this is how the trailer opens and I cannot even handle it.

The Old, Mangled Darth Vader Helmet

I literally gasped out loud at this scene.

A Downtrodden R2-D2

I realize he's a droid, but they have feelings too, right? And is that Luke Skywalker consoling him?! I need answers.

This Mysterious Hooded Figure

This is probably going to be one of the most thrilling 3D scenes of the film, and red light saber blazing in the background makes it even more intense.

When the Stormtroopers Come Under Attack...

Jaws will drop.

Han Solo and Chewbacca

As Han affectionately tells his furry friend, "Chewie, we're home." This is bound to be the best scene ever.
