Met Gala Documentary is in the Works

Possibly the most glamorous night of the year is getting its turn on the big screen: The 2015 Met Gala is getting its very own documentary, according to WWD. Condé Nast Entertainment, Relativity Studios, and Vogue are all partnering together to produce this documentary that centers around the process of creating the Metropolitan Museum of Art's spring 2015 Costume Institute gala.

And who better to helm this film than the filmmaker behind "Page One: Inside the New York Times," Andrew Rossi? Through this documentary, we'll get an inside look on how this massive event comes together. WWD reports that the film will not only look into the gala, but the making of the Costume Institute exhibition named "China: Through the Looking Glass." This particular exhibition will be viewable at the Met from May 7 to August 16, 2015. And it will all be directed by Wong Kar Wai.

While we get to enjoy seeing all the incredible looks on the iconic red carpet steps—hello, SJP in her many Oscar de la Renta looks—we miss the countless hours of preparation and and stress that goes into this historical event. Luckily, this documentary has us covered.

Tucker Tooley, president of Relativity, said in a statement, “This will be an extraordinary opportunity for a global audience to see what goes on before and after guests walk the red carpet, including the months of preparation for the exhibition and storied gala, culminating in the big opening night."

Though we don't have word on a release date, we can't wait to get the inside story and see how this cornerstone event comes together.
