Anna Kendrick Is One Of Hollywood's Wisest

by Jennifer Still

You can't deny a fact like this: Anna Kendrick has, over the past few years, become one of our generations most beloved actresses. She's talented, she's intelligent, and most of all, she's absolutely hilarious. Her refreshingly honest take on everything from politics to pop culture on her infamous Twitter account has had me in stitches more times than I can count, and I'm always looking forward to what she's going to say next. That being said, you can imagine how excited I was to find out that Anna Kendrick is working on a book of essays. Hundreds of pages of Kendrick's witty commentary and life wisdoms? Count me in!

As previously reported, the essays in Kendrick's book are thought to be largely biographical (no doubt with a bit of hyperbole thrown in for entertainment purposes), and given that she's now part of the Hollywood elite, there'll likely be no shortage of stories to tell. But if you're not already convinced of how amazing this book's going to be, don't worry — I'm here to help. Kendrick is, after all, the best friend we'd all love to have, and she spends most of her days dropping truth bombs we can all relate to. Memory a little hazy? I'm on it.

Here are 11 of the best things Anna Kendrick has ever said on social media — so far, at least!

On being a feminist Game of Thrones watcher

I mean, come on — GoT has never been shy about nudity from pretty much every character that's ever set foot on screen. Why are they holding out on us now? I feel her pain.

On not being able to deal with people

It's pretty comforting to know that it's not just me constantly putting my foot in my mouth and being a total jerk, even if I don't actually mean to be one. She's just like us!

On society's beauty standards

I mean, how common is it to have a thigh gap, anyway? Ankle gap, though — now I'm impressed. Sure, she was being lighthearted, but it's great that she doesn't take herself too seriously.

On battling the urge to move to a deserted island with a volleyball named Wilson

Ugh, we've all been there. If I had a dollar for every time someone asked me what's wrong when I'm literally just sitting there minding my own business, completely content, is beyond me. The worst!

On product branding

I mean, was Brookstone serious about this? Kendrick knows what's up and she's not afraid to call them out for it.

On delicious, delicious food

I just ate breakfast, and I'm already thinking about what I want for lunch, so...

On drinking too much

Obviously drinking is a big part of the social scene when you're young, and when you're a celeb, I imagine the alcohol is pretty much in free flow 24/7. Hangovers are bad, but Hollywood hangovers? I feel for her.

On doing what she wants

YAAAAAAAS. Not that Kendrick is trying to be a role model, but I'd say that's a pretty good message to send to younger girls (minus the profanity, maybe): do what you want, not what some dude wants you to do.

On ignoring text messages

You know very well got your text. I mean, when are texts actually not delivered without you knowing about it? I'm just not replying right now, man. Chill.

On being lazy

Given her career, obviously Kendrick isn't too controlled by the desire to lay around doing nothing — but oh man, do I feel that one. Bed is so comfy! Who would ever want to leave it?

On acting like a weirdo

We should all be as weird as possible, every single day. That's it.
