Sorry, Lindy Fans — 'Eye Candy' Has Been Canceled

MTV's Eye Candy finished its first season with one heck of a cliffhanger, but it looks like it'll never be resolved. All your questions from the series 10-episode first season earlier this year will never be answered. MTV has canceled Eye Candy after its first — and now only — season on the network. Star Victoria Justice (who played main character Lindy Sampson) made the announcement via Twitter Saturday night in a very somber extended Tweet using TwitLonger. "I wanted you guys to hear it from me first, that the cast and I received news that Eye Candy will not be returning for season 2," she wrote.

Justice continued: "Even though a lot of you are going to feel sad/angry, please know that playing Lindy Sampson, is something that I loved and I will hold dear to my heart. I couldn't have asked for better cast mates to work with either." She also complimented Eye Candy showrunner Christian Taylor, who she called "so awesomely talented," and told her (now former) co-stars Casey Diedrick, Harvey Guillen, John Garet Stoker, Ryan Cooper, Kiersey Clemons, "I love you all and I'm so excited to see what great things you guys will be doing next." Aww. She even suggests in the post that they should all get dinner and celebrate the show that was.

The series was based on Goosebumps author R.L. Stine's bestseller Eye Candy, but the novel was merely a starting point for the TV show version, story-wise. In fact, the killer isn't even the same person in the TV show and book, Taylor told TV Line after the Season 1 finale. "After I developed the story, I departed from the book and kind of reinvented a lot of it," he said. "When I started developing the show with the writers, anybody could have been the killer, so we just had to decide what would be the most interesting or most extreme option."

It's too bad fans won't be able to follow Lindy on the next part of that journey.
