Carolina Herrera's Swim Line Is Super Glamourous

by Augusta Statz

Carolina Herrera is known for her classic designs and bold prints, and with the Carolina Herrera debut swim line, she’s continuing to deliver just that. The swim collection is called Archive III and with it Herrera brings classic silhouettes that are ultra feminine and so beautiful to the beach. I could totally see myself relaxing poolside in her designs, all tan and posh and whatnot.

Aaaand back to reality. I must admit all that elegance comes at a hefty price tag, but what else did I expect from Herrera? Coming in at $490, these suits are pretty expensive, but I’d buy them in a heartbeat if I could. To Herrera, “Elegance is simplicity," she tells A Bikini A Day. “Elegance isn’t solely defined by what you wear, it’s how you carry yourself, how you speak, what you read and what you choose.” And what you lounge by the pool in, apparently. She’s definitely managed to carry her idea of simplistic elegance throughout this entire range.

The pieces come in a variety of shapes and styles including suits with plunging necklines, high-waisted bottoms, and low-scooped backs that offer a little something for everyone. Between the cuts and the patterns, there’s an air of vintage to this line that I so appreciate.

My personal favorite of the suits is a mushroom print bikini. So retro, yet so now. And if you can afford to buy one of these suits, you might as well get the sundresses, shirts, and shorts that are available in the same prints to match. I mean, a matching swimsuit and cover-up? Don’t mind if I do. If you have the means, (you lucky thing, you) shop the pieces at Neiman Marcus.

See how the Archive III collection combines past and present in a way that’s so simple, yet so chic:
