Need more reason to love these two? Probably not, but here, have some anyway: In an appearance on last night's Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Dax Shepard revealed that his wedding to Kristen Bell cost a whopping $142 dollars — including the price of gas it took to get from their home to the Beverly Hills courthouse.
"We went to the Beverly Hills Courthouse and — all in, with fuel to get there — $142 out the door," Shepard told Kimmel. Hey, it's different than most celebrities, but I'm finding this really adorable. They wanted to celebrate their love without any extra fluff — just the two of them, together. It's not the world's worst wedding, it's the world's sweetest.
Shepard then proceeded to joke that Kimmel's recent wedding to Molly McNearney in Ojai, California was beautiful, but too insanely expensive. "I'm a frugal person. Your wedding, when I was there — thanks for having me — there were helicopters overhead ... It felt like an episode of 'M*A*S*H. ... Not that I was counting your money, but I was counting your money because it was flying out the windows. They were setting it on fire at the place," Shepard commented, jokingly. "We all appreciated it, but I made a mental note when I watched that. I thought: I'm going to go a different route."
Shepard and Bell married last week in a secret ceremony at the Beverly Hills courthouse in LA, which was hopefully officiated by a sloth. Bell had previously commented to E! that she didn't want a lavish wedding, because, "I feel like we get enough attention in our daily lives and we want something sort of private that involves pen and paper." Respect! With that, Dax and Kristen continue to be the world's most adorable couple. Sorry, every other couple in the world.
