The Savior Might Not Save Lily On 'OUAT'

by Rachel Paige

It looks like things are changing in Storybrooke, and in more ways than one. Following the events of last Sunday's episode, "Sympathy for the De Vil," it appears as if Emma — or the savior — has started down a path to the dark side. That idea has been hinted at since the beginning of Once Upon A Time Season 4B, but now it looks more likely than ever. Cruella's dead (right?), there's someone new coming to town, and I'm horribly worried things are about to go very wrong. Maleficent's long lost daughter and Emma's long lost BFF, Lily, shows up in the aptly titled episode "Lily," and I've got a bad feeling about this. Just like Cruella, could Emma kill Lily on OUAT ?

It's a serious question, and I don't really want to be the one to ask it, but honestly, it could happen. We first met Lily earlier in Season 4, when we learned that she and Emma were once runaway BFFs. Except, it turned out that Lily wasn't a true runaway like Emma, and actually had a caring mother and father back home. And though Lily explained that she related to Emma because she was adopted, it wasn't until very recently that we found out Lily is really from the Enchanted Forest and is actually Maleficent's daughter.

The promos for Sunday's new episode clearly show that Emma and Lily come to a head — but how and why remains to be seen. This is when I start getting nervous. Check out the promo below, and you'll see why.

For starters, Lily is mad at Emma (I guess she found out about that whole, "Snow and Charming took Emma's evil and put it in Lily!" stuff). The two girls fight. They appear to throw some punches at one another. I'm dying to know if Lily has any trace of magic, just like Emma, because then their fight would be epic. The bigger concern, though, is the fact that these two are fighting at all. Emma's already started down this path of darkness, so when does it stop for her? She's known Lily longer than her parents (in a strange and weird way), but now that Lily seems to be threatening mom and pop Charming, Emma might take some drastic action.

If you hadn't noticed, people around Emma seem to be marked for death. Hey, I'm just calling it like it is. I don't really want to bring up Neal again, but I have to, because he's dead. August "died" when he changed back into little Pinocchio. Even Emma's guy in New York City, Walsh, is dead (though considering he was actually a flying monkey in disguise, I'm sure he was pretty easy to get over). I am terrified every single week that Hook is going to die, and I wouldn't know how to deal with that.

Even though Emma's the savior, that seems to come with a hefty price, and it's that she can't secure a happy ending for everyone — maybe including herself. Now that Lily, her long lost friend, is stepping in, I can't help but think Emma's going to somehow hurt her. It may not be intentional, but it could happen.

Lily is [spoiler alert, just in case] set to appear in a few episodes this season. So she's not going to die just yet, but if Emma keeps veering towards the dark side, Lily's days could be numbered in Storybrooke.
