Sawyer Sweeten Was Made For Comedy — VIDEO

A former child star from Everybody Loves Raymond, Sawyer Sweeten died Thursday at the age of 19 after taking his own life, his family said in a statement. The devastating news was a major blow to fans who grew up laughing and learning from the hit CBS sitcom. Though just a year and a half old when Everybody Loves Raymond premiered, Sweeten (pictured in blue and white), along with his twin brother Sullivan, showed they had the acting chops to make us laugh, even if they were just kids.

Sweeten's sister Madylin, who also played his older sibling on Everybody Loves Raymond, shared the devastating news to Bustle through a statement provided by manager Dino May.

The golden-haired twins played Ray Romano's on-screen sons for nine seasons, and we watched them grow before our eyes. In this poignant clip, Sweeten and Sullivan, who play Geoffrey and Michael, respectively, perform a comedy sketch during a school talent show. Even at a young age, Sweeten, who speaks first in the clip, shows he has the comedy chops to be a star. Their endearing delivery is a reminder of how much the show meant to us growing up, and how important each cast member was in teaching us about all-American family dynamics.
