Diane Reveals Details About Bruce's Interview

by Alyse Whitney

The time for Diane Sawyer's interview with Bruce Jenner on 20/20 is finally here, and ahead of the airing on April 24 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC, the veteran journalist revealed a new clip on Live! With Kelly and Michael. Sawyer wouldn't divulge details about what Jenner will talk about in the interview — "I think there are some stories that need to be told by people who need to speak for themselves," she said — but she did talk about how strength and how this will change his future. "You'll see that he is strong. He is looking forward to the future," she told Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan. "He knows this is a big interview, this is a big day for him. But he is really sentimental about his family and looking forward to what's ahead."

The latest clip shows Jenner being excited to share his story with the world. "I've got my health, I've got my children, I've got family. I've got seven grandkids now. I'm actually really excited about the future. About what I could do to be able to do some real good in the world." When Sawyer asks if he'll be OK, he responds, "I feel like I'm going to be OK. 2015 is going to be quite a ride."

In addition to learning about Jenner's journey, we will also see his family's reactions. "I talked to members of his family. We reached out to comment for other members of the family," Sawyer added. "In so many ways ... this family is going to teach all of us, in our lives, I think, about love. And what love is."

Editors Note: Until/unless Jenner has personally confirmed the transgender rumors and the intention to begin presenting as a woman, Bustle will continue to refer to the track star as a man and father, using male pronouns. Jenner deserves the courtesy of being able to “tell his story his way” when ready, as step-daughter Kim said, and Bustle will only make those changes if/when Jenner confirms.
