Obama's Hilarious Jokes About Cruz, Bush, Santorum

President Barack Obama jumped right into his comedy bit during his speech Saturday at the White House Correspondents' Dinner. Wasting no time, Obama named and shamed 2016 Republican hopefuls and those likely to run. His timing was perfect — as always — as he called out the likes of Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, and Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum.

If you were a Republican and you made a silly comment in the last year, Obama called you out on it during his speech. Obama didn't make any tasteless personal attacks against the candidates. After all, he's classier than that. Rather, he called out people on some of their silly hypocritical views and even brought up "Luther the Anger Translator" from Key & Peele to help him better vent his anger.

One Republican target was Cruz, who announced his candidacy for president last month. Cruz has denied that humans are the cause of climate change, and he previously compared these views to Galileo’s revolutionary theory that the Earth revolved around the sun and not the other way around. Of course, Obama had the perfect response to Cruz’s comparison of scientific denial to actual science:

Ted Cruz said he's like Galileo. No. Galileo thought the earth revolved around the sun. Cruz thinks it revolves around him.

Obama also joked about recent news that Bush had accidentally marked "Hispanic" on a voter registration form. Obama compared it to conspiracy theories that he wasn't really American and should thus be removed from his position.

Look, it’s an honest mistake — reminds me of when I identified myself as American back in 1961.

And Santorum, who has yet to officially announce his White House run, had previously said he would not RSVP yes to a gay wedding, even if it was for a relative. Obama joked:

Rick Santorum announced that he would not attend a gay or lesbian wedding of one of his friends or loved ones, to which gay people responded, "That’s not going to be a problem."

Obama even took a jab at billionaire brothers Charles and David Koch's influence in the 2016 election, saying their plan to spend $1 billion on the 2016 campaign was "kind of insulting" to Republican candidates.

They have to spend $1 billion to get them to like you.

The LOLs were constant. Thanks, Obama.
