What Your Fave Drake Collab Says About You

by Maitri Suhas

I would happily kiss Drake's feet, but I suppose I will have to settle for songs featuring Drake. Our favorite Canadian Champagne Papi has had so many great solo bangers, but the boy has also collaborated with all of your faves to keep the bops coming. Obviously Drake's preference is to make tracks with his Young Money family — there's always magic when Drake and Nicki and/or Lil Wayne are on the same song.

There's a reason that Aubrey Graham makes us feel some type of way: because he has a lot of feelings. And like his mama said, he's just trying to work through it and make through another day. And isn't that what we're all doing? He appeals to our humanity! And so do the rappers and artists that he collaborates with, all thinking about the fleeting nature of fame, how money changes you, and weed. Chances are, your favorite Drake track is one where he's not going it alone (personally I am overjoyed whenever Drake and Nicki drop a song), because he knows how to make sweet sweet music with his friends. So what does your favorite Drake collaboration track say about you?

"Poetic Justice" — Kendrick Lamar feat. Drake

You're the kind of woman that wears dark moon perfume and are a little bit high maintenance, but you just need a little empathy. You're mysterious and kind of cold but only because you're afraid of getting hurt. And Drizzy knows it. He knows you'll come around when you're ready, you just gotta talk to him more. What you doin' that walk for?

"Moment 4 Life" — Nicki Minaj feat. Drake

You take advantage of the moment and you live day by day, minute by minute. You don't plan too far in advance, because when you're living in the moment you (and Drake) swear you're infinite.

"Hold On We're Going Home" — Drake feat. Majid Jordan

Life feels a little lonely sometimes. You want to go home and connect with family — but where even is home? And who's your real family, anyway? Sometimes the best family we have aren't blood relatives.

"Pound Cake/Paris Morton Music 2" — Drake feat. Jay Z

You truly believe that living well is the best revenge. You worked hard as hell to get to where you are, so treat yourself to another piece of cake, baby. You know that peaking in high school is lame and overrated and now that you're a come-up, you find yourself with a lot of fairweather friends. Ignore 'em! You don't have time for their nonsense.

"No New Friends" — DJ Khaled feat. Drake, Lil Wayne, and Rick Ross

You've been burned in the past, so you've learned to take care of yourself. It's all about looking out for number one, and that's you. In a nut shell: You can't sit with us.

"Tuesday" — ILOVEMAKKONEN feat. Drake

Tuesday seems like kind of a bleak day to party, but you have to take the edge off somehow. You work hard and you play hard, but even when you're playing you're thinking about work. It's time to relax and chill out a little bit.

"Only" — Nicki Minaj feat. Drake, Lil Wayne and Chris Brown (ew)

You're hot, smart, and successful, and your friends are all envious of you. But living the charmed life doesn't leave much time for making lasting relationships and connections. There are only 24 hours in a day, you know?

"Truffle Butter" — Nicki Minaj feat. Drake and Lil Wayne

You're bored. Bored, bored, bored! You're getting yours (in Drake and Nicki's case, the money), but you aren't inspired by it anymore. What purpose does art even serve — you worry — as you pull on a blunt.
