You Need These Makeup Illustrations On Your Wall

by Jamie Cuccinelli

Makeup is often just as gorgeous in the packaging as it is are on our faces. Twenty-five year old artist Calla O’Malley illustrates favorite beauty products so that you never have to worry about them losing their luster once you open them again. Ever buy an eye shadow palette so pretty you haven't wanted to use it in fear of messing up the beautiful color combo? Or saved bottles of perfume months after you used up the last drop to display on your dresser? Enter O'Malley's stunning works of art.

The artisanal sculpted perfume bottles decorating the Sephora shelves or your rainbow of makeup brushes? Yup, you can now hang those on your wall in the form of gorgeous watercolor paintings. Inspired by her love for the look and design of cosmetics and makeup tools, O'Malley has been creating her illustrations for over a year via her Tumblr page, The Palette Blog. “I think so much goes into designing them, and I just love to look at them,” Calla told Allure. “I even started filling up my house with beauty products as decoration.”

Calla has crafted illustrations of everything from MAC lipsticks, old-school glamour girls, Shu Uemura eyelash curlers, her own arsenal of daily makeup products, and even a recreation of my personal favorite perfume, Dolce & Gabbana's Dolce. Calla considers everything in your makeup bag a work of art that deserves a coveted spot on your wall.
