Amazing Things Are Planned For 'Mom' Season 3

All of our favorite shows are coming to an end, something that happens each year but never gets easier. But you know what does make a season finale easier to watch? When the network has already renewed the show for another season in the fall. Luckily, CBS has Mom was renewed for Season 3, which means that we can celebrate and react joyously because my favorite mother and daughter duo since Lorelai and Rory Gilmore aren't going anywhere. And in addition to Mom coming back for another season, there's actually a lot to look forward to in Season 3. [UPDATE: Deadline reports that Mom will return Nov. 5.]

The Season 2 finale of Mom is April 30, but that doesn't mean we have to say goodbye to Anna Faris and Allison Janney forever. Back in March, CBS renewed a ton of shows — Mike & Molly, 2 Broke Girls, and Mom— creating a very solid fall comedy line-up. CBS has not released when the show will premiere in the fall, but looking at the first two seasons' premieres, a late fall premiere seems like the most likely. Season 1 ended in April 2014, and Season 2 premiered October 2014, so judging by that precedent, Mom will be back on our TVs around then.

And even though Season 3 is months away, there are already a handful of things to look forward to when the show returns.

Pressly, who has been a guest star on the sitcom since early Season 2, will return to Season 3 as a series regular. Pressly plays Christy's newly sober friend, Jill, who is a welcomed handful on the series.

The Show Is Going To Get More Real

When Glamour asked Janney if her character will ever find love, Janney responded with a very real world answer. "Love interests are great, but... it's not that Chuck and the writers don't want these women to find the love of their lives, but many people in this world don't find the man of their dreams like many of us thought we would, like it’s a guarantee or something." So while we're rooting for these women to find love in a happily ever after situation, the show continues to be a beacon in real life issues, where sometimes that simply doesn't happen.

Chris Pratt May Guest Star

In the same Glamour interview, when asked if Pratt would ever make an appearance in Christy and Bonnie's world, Anna Faris responded, "Yes! I know he would. He loves being here, and I know he'd love performing in front of a live audience." So if that's not something to tune in for...
