The Celebrity Fashion and Beauty Looks That Won This Week

This week's crew of best-dressed and well-groomed celebrities didn't play it safe with tried-and-true evening glamour. In fact, some didn’t even go the showstopping floor-length gown route at all. There was one all-over lip embellished Saint Laurent top and trouser combo that made the cut; at least two winter white ensembles that caught the eye; a pair of leather pants that you could wear without looking like an extra from Rock of Ages; and if you can glean anything from the snippet of Diane Kruger above, then you know someone wore floral appliqué very, very well.

To go along with the most stylish looks of the week, another set of stars complemented their red-carpet outfits with equally gorgeous hair and makeup choices. Top of mind beauty standouts? One braided updo that certainly rivals Princess Leia's buns (in a good way); a smoky cat-eye worth copying; a bronzed glow look that will come in handy once that sickly winter pale skin sets in; and, oh yes, there might just be the perfect shade of matte red lipstick waiting in the “wings” of this slideshow, thanks to Amanda Seyfried. For the top 10 fashion and beauty looks from the week, courtesy of the Hollywood set, just keep clicking.

Hailee Steinfeld in Saint Laurent

As one of the leads in the upcoming Ender's Game, actress Hailee Steinfeld attended the LA premiere on Monday in a slightly different kind of red carpet look. Instead of wearing the usual evening gown fare, the actress chose a quirky lip print-embellished top and trouser set fresh from the Saint Laurent Spring 2014 runway. Thanks be to Hedi Slimane for creating such a fun, playful look — it's exactly the kind of thing Steinfeld can get away with, given her young age. (Hard to believe the Oscar nominee is only 16 years old!)

Princess Charlene of Monaco in Ralph Lauren

Say what you want about her shoulder-baring ways, but Princess Charlene of Monaco looked amazing at a special screening of To Catch a Thief, hosted by Ralph Lauren at the MoMA in NYC. The structured bodice, cinched waist, and '70s-inspired wide leg silhouette all worked in this white strapless jumpsuit. And with Princess Charlene's statuesque figure, there was no better person to rock it with a royally polished twist.

Diane Kruger in Chanel

Diane Kruger is an actress, yes. But Diane Kruger could also be legitimately recognized as a style icon. The star stepped out in Sao Paulo, Brazil for Chanel's Little Black Jacket event, and for the occasion, she chose a dress from the house's Spring 2013 Couture collection. The strapless floral appliqué dress looked fresh and simultaneously decadent on Kruger, and the fact that she finished off the look with glamorous waves and a simple pair of Stuart Weitzman sandals? Even better. Gorgeous and approachable.

Kate Bosworth in Kate Bosworth for Topshop

Kate Bosworth stopped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon in NYC to promote her film, Big Sur, on Tuesday — and her outfit was both casual and cool. Really, let's just start and end with her slick Kate Bosworth for Topshop leather pants, because those are the scene-stealers here. If you're wondering what else went into the actress' look, Bosworth wore a black Dolce & Gabbana jacket, a white Topshop shirt, and embellished Christian Louboutin pumps.

Nicole Richie in Chloé

Rachel Bilson wasn't the only knockout at the Chloé dinner earlier in the week. Nicole Richie nailed the all-white ensemble, a hard thing to do, and she did it in a way that can be easily translated into our own wardrobes. She donned a Chloé cropped jacket from Fall 2013 with a white blouse, white skinny jeans, and white pointy-toe pumps. To give the look some depth, she finished with a gray belt, dark clutch, and a black jeweled pendant necklace.

Amanda Seyfried's Red Lipstick

My experience endlessly searching for the perfect matte red lipstick tells me the shade Amanda Seyfried is pictured wearing here seems damn near close. The actress, alongside her actor/boyfriend Justin Long, attended the LAByrinth Theater Company Celebrity Charades Benefit Gala on Monday in NYC, and while her outfit is nothing to write home about, her red lip is. Seyfried, if you're reading, tell us where we can find the lipstick you're wearing!

Abigail Breslin's Perfect Cat-Eye

Abigail Breslin stepped out for the Ender's Game premiere in L.A. on Monday evening wearing a black Halston Heritage gown for the occasion. Unfortunately, the look didn't quite work on the young starlet. The floor-length look matured the 17-year old in a way that was not at all flattering; despite her youth and petite frame, the dress made her look dowdy. Here's what did work, though: her eye makeup. The actress complemented her dark evening ensemble with a slightly winged cat-eye that came complete with pearly taupe crease work. The prettiness and precision of her eyeliner gave the rest of the look a purr-fect jolt of glamour.

Rachel Bilson Does 'Little House on the Prairie'

Rachel Bilson's head-to-toe Chloé look at the brand's fashion show and dinner party in L.A. wasn't the only thing that she got right. Her long, straight, middle-parted hair was a sweet counterpart to the clean, crisp outfit... and it also is bound to be easy to recreate. Win-win.

Jessica White's Bronzed Glow

While model Jessica White's Michael Costello gown may not have been the right pick (for her) at the Angel Ball in NYC, her minimal glowing makeup was. It's not easy to pull off the heavy highlighter look, but White truly does look angelic here. How do I follow suit?

Kate Bosworth's Braided Updo

Kate Bosworth was on quite a tear this week, but that's kind of how movie promo tours work. While all of her outfits were great (see earlier slide), this crazy braided updo — as seen at the NYC premiere of her film, Big Sur — has earned its own mention. It's a little bit Princess Leia, a little bit schoolgirl on steroids, and a little bit weird, but somehow it works.
