Looks like we finally know why she was trying on all those wigs yesterday. I know that you were totally waiting on the edge of your seat to find out why, so I won't leave you hanging in suspense any longer: As expected, it was for a Halloween costume, and, as expected, that costume didn't disappoint in shock factor. Last night on her Instagram, Miley Cyrus showed off her Lil' Kim Halloween costume, specifically Lil' Kim at the 1999 VMAs when everyone was freaking out because one of her breasts was hanging out with just a pasty to cover it. Because, of course, no one's ever seen a breast before!
Anyway, it's not as awesome as a Hannah Montana costume would have been, but it is sort of fitting, given the controversy that Cyrus stirred up at this year's VMAs. Why not dress up as another controversial artist who caused just as much of a stir not only at the VMAs, but during her whole career? It's pretty clever — and it earned a seal of approval from Lil' Kim herself, who tweeted a picture of Cyrus dressed as her and said, "Awwww. Look at my baby @mileycyrus tonight!!! Looking GORGEOUS!!! I wish I was there to squeeze your boob :) :) Love…" Aww, how...sweet?
This costume also isn't all that much of a surprise if you consider the fact that Cyrus has actually been a fan of Lil' Kim's for quite some time — in an interview with Billboard, Cyrus previously said that she feels somewhat connected to the rapper. "In my past life, I feel like that was me. I feel like Lil Kim is who I am on the inside ... she just makes me happy ... I just love her. And I can't help that I love her."
Who wants to bet that there'll be some people dressing up tonight as Miley Cyrus as Lil' Kim? Come on, there has to be at least one meta Miley fan out there.
