All The Best Outfits From The 2015 Kentucky Derby

by Erin Mayer

Derby Day is officially here! Hopefully you aren't too distracted by the arrival of Royal Baby #2 to care about all the hilarious hats and other Kentucky Derby attire that will be flooding your social media feeds for the rest of the day. While feathered, floral hats and pastels might not be everyone's cup of tea, we can't deny that the Triple Crown event seriously delivers on the style front. Some of these looks won't exactly be runway worthy, but a heck of a lot of creativity goes in to planning an outfit that will stand out among a sea of wild and crazy ensembles.

Given that Derby fashion tends to lean toward the outlandish, it can be easy to overlook the people who opt for simpler, more chic ensembles. Make no mistake — it's totally possible to dress the part and still look totally fabulous. Luckily, the crowd at the 2015 Kentucky Derby definitely got that memo. There were some killer outfits at this year's event, and I'm happy to share the most standout ensembles with you.

From southern belles to dapper gents, these are the best looks of the 2015 Kentucky Derby. Who says you can't look chic while betting on a horse race?

1. Tara Lipinski

Her headgear is rather tame by Derby standards, but I love the soft balletic pink dress and honey-colored waves she's sporting. She looks like a fairy princess!

2. Katie George

Gotta love that Emma Stone-esque color combination.

3. Johnny Weir

I mean, come on. He is too chic.

4. Alicia Quarles

This is an unusual color palette for the Kentucky Derby, which is probably why it stands out so much.

5. Matchy-Matchy

Pretty much the chicest way to coordinate ensembles.

6. Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett

Who says black and white isn't Derby appropriate? That dramatic, elegant hat is perfect too.

7. Josh Groban

That is one dapper suit.

8. Vanessa & Nick Lachey

Well-coordinated but not over-the-top.

What a dreamy lace skirt/polo combination! Her hat provides a much-needed pop of color.

10. Sarah Hyland

The Monet-esque floral print on Hyland's dress is unique, and it pairs perfectly with her veiled headpiece.

11. David Walton

On fleek tie/shirt/jacket pairing.

12. Majandra Delfino

The actress (does anyone else remember her from Roswell, aka the best show of all time?) paired a crisp white jumpsuit with a jaunty yellow hat, chunky bangles, and nude pumps.

Dapper as heck.
