Coco Rocha's Botkier Collection Is A Must Own

Coco Rocha has her hands full... and not only with her newborn daughter Ioni. The supermodel is getting into designing, too. Coco Rocha and Botkier handbags have partnered for a capsule collection that will cruise into retail stores just in time for the holiday shopping season.

If you are not crazy familiar with Botkier bags, they usually come in funky shapes, like the large Lafayette satchel, pictured below, and they fall in the $300-and-above price range. The brand was launched by Monica Botkier and she did a limited edition run of bags at Target way, way, way back in 2008, when Target was rocking some seriously high-end partnerships every few months.

Since then, the brand has been quietly chugging along, but I'm thinking the association with Rocha can push the brand back to the forefront, since she is chic and beloved. Plus, those pricier, department store Botkiers are fancy schmancy. Expect Rocha to give Botkier a boost, at least in terms of familiarity and visibility.

Here's the roomy Lafayette, which I love and have had my eye on for just about forever.

I also dig the Leroy satchel, as well. It's very chic arm candy.

And here's everything we know about the upcoming Coco Rocha x Botkier collab.

1. There will be eight pieces to snag.

There will be eight Coco Rocha-designed bags that land in November, according to WWD.

2. Rocha's always wanted to do handbags.

Rocha has wanted to create bags for a while, but she didn't want to just appear in ads or merely endorse something she had no direct impact on. She was just patient, waiting for the right time and the right brand. According to WWD, she said, "I've wanted to create my own handbags for a long time, but I didn’t just want to lend my name to something and have no input."

3. And she has a strong vision for the collection.

Botkier (the woman!) was stoked to invite Rocha into the process. She noted that this partnership was "different" since Rocha "is a fashion person…and she came prepared. Her vision is strong and directional — it's like Botkier amplified." That pretty much means it's a good thing for your wardrobe if you happen to nab one of these bags.

4. They'll be in the mid price range.

The bags will be affordable, falling in the $268 to $448 range, which is insanely attractive pricing. The bags epitomize metro chic, too, as they were inspired by New York, London, Paris, and Milan, which are not only Rocha's fave cities, but they are also primo fashion destinations. So what Botkier herself said about Rocha being "a fashion person" is so, so true.

Looking at Rocha's style in these photos, it's already clear to me that her Botkier bags are going to be instantly covetable items.
