Future Happy Hour Suggestions For Starbucks

As you may already be aware, Starbucks Frappuccino Happy Hour is currently in full swing. Starting last Friday and continuing through May 10 (that's this upcoming Sunday), all Frappuccino flavors are half off at any participating Starbucks location between the hours of 3 PM and 5 PM. And that? Is pretty awesome. But…

(You knew there was a “but” coming, didn't you?)

...But at the same time, I'll be honest: 10 whole days of half-priced Frappuccino actually leaves me a little… well, cold. And not in the icy, blended coffee drink sense.

Don't get me wrong — I love me a good Frappuccino. I don't have them very often, but they're nice treats to splurge on every now and again. Heck, I even took advantage of Frappuccino Happy Hour yesterday through a combination of being in the right place at the right time and having recently unearthed an unused Starbucks gift card from the disaster that is my desk (and no, I have no idea where that gift card came from. It just magically appeared, so clearly it was meant to be). But I don't think I'm alone when I say that I probably couldn't deal with drinking an entire, possibly overly sweet Frappuccino every day for a week and a half, which cuts down on the promo's usefulness for me.

But hey, I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth; as such, I will take those 10 days of Frappuccinos (including S'mores Frappuccinos!) with open arms and I will thank the mighty Coffee Gods for them. I've got a few ideas for other kinds of happy hours Starbucks might think about instating sometime in the future, though — anyone else with me on any of these themes?

1. Cake Pop Happy Hour

Having a bad day? Go get yourself a cake pop for half off. No one can stay upset while they're eating a cake pop.

2. Build-Your-Own Latte Happy Hour

I mean, technically Starbucks is just a big ol' build-your-own latte machine — but does the structure of a three-step “pick your base; now pick your syrup; now pick your topping; now get it all for half off” appeal to anyone else? Because that sounds magnificent to me.

3. Scone Happy Hour

No, not that kind of scone.

4. Pound Cake Happy Hour

This was Bustle's very own Julie Alvin's suggestion, because, as she says, pound cake is delicious.

5. Iced Everything Happy Hour

By which I mean, iced everything except Frappuccinos. But coffee? Tea? Lattes? Those “Fizzio” soda things? All that counts. What would make it even better is if it wasn't a half-off deal, but rather an “everything is a dollar” or some other kind of flat rate deal. Maybe that's just me, though.

6. Pumpkin Spice Latte Happy Hour

BUT! What makes this one special is this: Pumpkin Spice Latte Happy Hour happens out of Pumpkin Spice Latte season. Making PSLs available for one random week in the middle of May sounds like a winning strategy to me.

7. Breakfast-for-Dinner Happy Hour

Sometimes, we just need an excuse to eat cake for dinner. This would be perfect for that.

8. Chocolate Happy Hour

This one encompasses everything chocolate on the menu, from hot chocolate to chocolate caramel muffins. How indulgent. Also, does anyone else find this GIF mildly disgusting, yet strangely fascinating?

9. Donut and Coffee Happy Hour

Any donut, plus either a hot or iced coffee of any size, for cheap? Yes please!

10. Smoothie Happy Hour

Because, well… smoothies. Even if they're kale smoothies. Or perhaps especially if they're kale smoothies.
