Handpicked: The 8 Things I'm Loving Right Now

I've been writing for you for a while now, but all you really know about me is that I like shopping and that I enjoy weird shoes. So I thought I'd share with you some of the things I'm really into these days, and give you a peek into the strange world of Candace.

In general, when it comes to fashion, I'm pretty low key. I'd peg my style icons as Brigitte Bardot and this little old lady I saw at a bodega once (she was incredible). I don't wear much makeup, but I do change my outfit three to five times before leaving my apartment. I accessorize almost exclusively with scarves and headbands.

This year for Halloween, I was Ms. Frizzle. I didn't do anything different to my hair than usual, and that should give you a sense of my usual routine. Nevertheless, there are some things I can't do without, like the occasional oddly colored lip, high quality fabric, and colorful, funky prints. So here are my current favorite obsessions: my favorite clothes, beauty products, and book.

If you have anything dope you think I'd like, always feel free to tweet at me and let me know.

Jaquard Pants

These pants are comfortable, flattering, and made from a really nice thick jacquard cloth. Also, they make me feel like Betty Draper.

Camden-Fit Diamond Jacquard Ankle Pant, $90, bananarepublic.com

Warby Parker Glasses

These are my new glasses. I usually wear contacts, but I haven't been able to take these off sense I got them. Also, since they're from Warby Parker, they were really inexpensive.

Ripley Oak Barrel Glasses, $145, warbyparker.com

Silky Romper

A couple of month ago, I made a vow to myself never to buy polyester again. But then I found this romper. Too flattering to pass up.

Orange Lipstick

As I mentioned already, I don't really wear makeup. However, I love lipstick. I have a really nice Tom Ford red that I used for a while, but when I discovered this "Siren" orange from Revlon, it was a game changer.

Bunny Sweater

My new favorite sweater: somehow fits my broad shoulders without being baggy around my torso.

ModCloth Isn't It Bunny Sweater, $63, modcloth.com

Jezebel Unlined Bras

I only wear unlined bras. Does anyone else do this? I'm on the busty side, so it's about as "au naturel" as I can get without scaring people. Jezebel bras, which I recently discovered, are not only cheaper than Victoria Secret, they're also way sturdier in my experience.

'Gertie's New Book For Better Sewing'

Remember when I told you why you should learn to sew? Since then I've discovered this amazing book full of basically everything you need to know about sewing, with a ton of patterns for retro garments.

Gertie's New Book For Better Sewing, $26.50, amazon.com

Anthropologie Headbands

I love turbans. I love headbands. Anthropologie's cloth-covered headbands are the only ones I've ever found that don't give me a headache.

Terezinha Turban Headband, $38, anthropologie.com
