11 Hangover Makeup Tips You Haven't Heard About But Need To Know So You Can Survive The Morning After

While I know hydrating before bed is the right thing to do, I don’t always do it. Luckily, there are plenty of moisture-rich products for those days when I need to look as though I got home at a decent hour; i.e., makeup for hangovers. Besides the tried-and-true frozen spoon for tired puffy eyes, these are some of the easiest hangover makeup tips to looking wide-awake.

Hangover skin is similar to airplane skin — dehydrated and dry. So these makeup tips apply to both long nights and long travels. While I prefer not to wear makeup at all the next morning, there are just some days when I can’t avoid it. So whether it’s brunch with friends or an early interview, these hydrating, skin freshening, morning boosting products will leave your skin looking supple and fresh so no one has to know what you got up to last night.

Onwards, friends. Check out my favorite beauty products and tips for hiding that hangover.

Face Mask

This vitamin and antioxidant rich mask will have your face feeling firmer and fresher in just five minutes. While a face mask is a bit extreme for a hangover, it is great to have for those big nights out.

Bliss Triple Oxygen Energizing Mask, $54, sephora.com

Moisturizer

This drug store moisturizer is one of the best I have ever tried. It has a rich and thick texture that instantly absorbs on the skin. Great to use before bed and in the morning as well.

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Riche, $29, drugstore.com

Face Mist

This citrus face mist wakes up and refreshes your face. Plus, Miranda Kerr uses it, so you know it has to be good.

Energizing Citrus Mist, $44, koraorganics.com

Primer

This moisturizer-heavy primer is great for everyday use, but is extra handy for mornings when your skin is uncharacteristically dry.

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer, $34, nordstrom.com

BB Cream

If you haven’t realized already, the most important thing about hangover makeup is hydration. So retire your thicker foundation and use a light and moisture rich BB cream. Shiseido’s BB Cream is my personal favorite because it gives a nice glow to the skin.

Shiseido "Perfect" Hydrating BB Cream, $35, nordstrom.com

Concealer

Hands down the best concealer for tired eyes. Since caffeine is one of the ingredients, my eyes look wide awake before I’ve even had my morning cup of coffee.

First Aid Beauty Eye Duty Triple Remedy, $36, sephora.com

Luminizer

Skip the highlighter and focus on dewy glowing skin instead. Add RMS Luminizer to the inner corners of your eyes, brow line, and cheekbones for a beautiful glow.

RMS Living Luminizer, $38, rms.com

Blush

You want to look refreshed and bright, so opt for blush instead of bronzer. NARS’ "Orgasm" blush looks great on every skin tone. Apply to the apples of your cheeks and dab on your lips for an extra bit of color.

NARS "The Multiple" Stick in "Orgasm," $39, nordstrom.com

Lips

This super hydrating salve will heel the most dry and irritated lips, plus it smells great!

Rosebud Salve, $6, sephora.com

Hair

Klorane’s dry shampoo is my favorite. It soaks up oil and adds volume to limp hair so you don’t feel rushed to wash it.

Klorane Dry Shampoo, $20, birchbox.com

Perfume

When Into the Gloss reported that Gigi Hadid uses Fresh’s Sugar Lemon Shower Gel, I had to give it a go. I loved it so much that I ended up buying the perfume. Like the gel, the perfume has a heavenly summer scent that will mask your whereabouts from the night before.

Fresh Sugar Lemon Perfume, $48, sephora.com
