Brangelina's Movie 'By The Sea' Is Coming Soon

Hey, everyone. Remember that movie that the Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were shooting together? You know, because they aren't already enviable enough with their flawless skin and their gorgeous wedding and their beautiful family? They also have to get paid to make a movie together, just to rub it in our faces? Well, By the Sea just got an official release date — November 13, 2015. So clear your schedule for that day, because we'll all be spending it together with our butts in theater seats, stewing in jealousy over Brangelina's perfect life. Sounds like a fun date!

By the Sea was both written and directed by Jolie, who, of course, also stars opposite Pitt as married couple Vanessa and Roland — a former dancer and an American writer, respectively. The film is set in the mid-1970s and gives us a dark snapshot of Vanessa and Roland's turbulent marriage as they travel throughout France, getting to know their fellow travelers. In particular, it centers on the couple's sexual obsession with their neighbors, one of whom will be played by Brangelina's real-life friend Melanie Laurent, who also starred with Pitt in Inglorious Basterds. In Jolie's own words, speaking about the film with The Hollywood Reporter:

This is a story about a relationship derailed by loss, the tenacity of love, and the path to recovery and acceptance. It has been a privilege to explore these universal human experiences with such a generous and talented cast and crew.

Wow! So, basically, this movie covers a lot of bases, and is a bold subject to be tackled by a real-life couple...particularly one so recently married themselves. In any case, it'll be a serious departure from the Jolie-Pitts' previous film appearance together, which was in 2005's Mr. and Mrs. Smith. (You know, the movie where they met and fell in love while playing a married couple with secrets that ended up bringing them closer together?) Hard to follow up an act like that, but it sounds like they're doing their darndest.
