5 Models Show That All Bodies Are Beautiful

by Kali Borovic

Body image issues are not a new topic, but recently there's been an increased push toward size acceptance and body positivity. We've seen a lot of changes in the modeling industry already, but there's still a long way to go. Models from an organization called ADLA stripped down in Iceland's Glamour magazine in an eight-page spread designed to empower other women to embrace their individuality.

Launched in 2014 and recently signed to IMG Models, ALDA was created by five models who wanted to "hoping to change the perception of beauty in the fashion industry," according to Huffington Post.

The groups founders — Ashley Graham, Danielle Redman, Inga Eiriksdottir, Julie Henderson, and Marquita Pring — are not only widely successful, but they also use that success to spread a message of self-love and show women of all shapes and sizes that they are beautiful.

ALDA, which means "wave" in Icelandic, has without a doubt made a splash in the modeling industry. Standing together as an inspiration for all body types, the group not only looks amazing in the Glamour spread, but has the power to make a huge impact on women everywhere.

More women than ever before are speaking out against society's narrow idea of what it means to be beautiful, but we still have a long way to go before editorial spreads like this one become the new normal.

According to their site, "ALDA is a new collective of models that represents beauty without divisions, boundaries, and — most importantly — beauty that doesn't conform to any body shape or size."

The women are trying to create a more holistic view of beauty, and based on these images, it's definitely working!

ALDA is tearing down the limitations that come with labels and the harsh, harmful standards of the modeling industry.

Aren't these ladies gorgeous! We could use more people like them as role models.
