Loki Quotes Perfect To Use During Family Dinners

by Aramide Tinubu

So, I'm just gonna put this out there: when Chris Hemsworth is on screen I can't be bothered to look at anyone else. For instance, when I saw The Avengers: Age of Ultron in theaters, I honestly couldn't focus on anything else in the film when he was around — it's something I'm working on. But, while it may have been a source of problem during The Avengers, it was actually sort of a blessing during Thor and Thor: The Dark World: As in, when it comes to those movies, I can recall everything that occurred in both of the films — and I can also recall how amazing Tom Hiddleston as Loki was in them. After all, Tom Hiddleston is a tad dreamy — you know, if you're into that whole tall, handsome, charming, well-educated, and talented thing. Also, as far as Marvel villains go, Loki is pretty badass: From his debonair attire to his plotting and scheming, Loki is certainly a worthy opponent to the true ruler of Asgard. While Thor is broody, manly and damn fine to look at, Loki's presence adds humor and sass to the God of Thunder's universe — and when it comes to quotable lines in Marvel films, Loki's quotes are always the best.

The God of Mischief is always up to no good, and we can learn a lot from him. After all, he is the villain that everyone hates to love and loves to hate. Loki’s one-liners are perfection — and they can be used in a multitude of settings. While we have all been taught about tact and politeness, Loki never had to worry about such mortal matters — and there have been many times when I wanted to channel Loki at family functions and say what was on my mind.

However, while I chose to preserve the peace, you don’t have to! Here are seven Loki quotes to use at your next family dinner.

1. "If It's All The Same To You, I'll Have That Drink Now."

We all know that family dinners can be sometimes sordid, sometimes dull affairs. At times, the only way to get through them is to have an adult beverage. (Provided you're of age, of course.)

2. "It's My Birthright."

I was the eldest in my household growing up, which obviously meant I deserved the biggest portion of dessert: It's my birthright, after all.

3. "Brother, Whatever You're Doing, I Suggest You Do It Faster."

Have you ever asked one of your siblings to pass you the macaroni and cheese or some other savory dish at the dinner table? Well I have, and it seems that the hungrier you are, the slower your siblings will move.

4. "Oh No, You Brought the Monster."

Nothing ruins a dinner party faster than an unwelcome guest. You could be having a lovely meal, but when that certain person arrives, your appetite is completely ruined. Monsters should not be invited to dinner, it's just good manners.

5. "Please Don't. I Still Need That."

Why does someone always try and take your plate before you're finished eating? Three helpings does not necessarily mean that you're full! Don't ever let anyone walk off with your plate before you're finished — stand up for yourself, and your stomach.

6. "Well Done, You Just Decapitated Your Grandfather!"

Family dinners can be rather dramatic, however its highly unlikely that any of our beloved grandfathers will lose their heads. However, to be on the safe side, it's probably best that we all refrain from inviting any characters from the Marvel Universe over for dinner. (Also, this could just be used as a random joke phrase to use when there's an awkward silence, or something.)

7. "I Am A Fool."

Time and time again, we all find ourselves roped into family dinners that we wanted no part of. The only thing left to do is to acknowledge how foolish we have been... once again.
