The 'RHONY' AC Trip Started Terribly, As Expected

by Laura Rosenfeld

Out of all of the arguments that The Real Housewives of New York City have had through the years, this one had to be the most Real Housewife-y of them all. OK, maybe except for that fight they had about where they were going to eat brunch in the Hamptons earlier this season. But this epic feud over tardiness to kick off the RHONY Atlantic City trip that Sonja Morgan was at the center of, so you know it's got to be pretty good.

Usually during an episode of RHONY, we get a few minutes to settle in. At the top of the episode, we usually see a few vignettes of like Bethenny Frankel working or Kristen Taekman taking care of her children or Sonja exploiting, I mean I mean, educating one of her interns before we get to the meaty stuff.

Not so with Tuesday night's episode of RHONY. We jumped right in to the drama. As the ladies gathered at Sonja's place to head out to Atlantic City to celebrate Ramona Singer's birthday, they got a rude awakening. For some reason, Lady Sonja Morgan, as Heather Thomson not-so-lovingly referred to the Housewife during the episode, wouldn't let her cast mates inside her house to wait for the others to arrive. Heather, Kristen, and Dorinda Medley were told that Sonja had to finish packing, so they had to wait outside in the cold rain so as not to disrupt her.

Now I'm no countess, but that's just plain rude. What kind of person wouldn't let their friends in their house when they're at their door? They could just sit in your living room, Sonja, while you do your thing. They're big girls. They can handle themselves without bothering you. This whole thing was just so bizarre.

If you ask me, Sonja was just asking for drama, and she got it. Heather was not at all pleased with how Sonja treated the ladies, and she let Sonja know it in the uber-tacky white stretch limousine the ladies took to AC. Seriously, this vehicle was almost as offensive as Sonja's behavior toward the other Housewives. Almost. Heather said she has always treated Sonja with the utmost care and hospitality, after all, like when she has carried her up the stairs and tucked her into bed when she couldn't do it herself after a long night of partying.

Bethenny basically had to coax Sonja into apologizing in the limo, but not before the Ramona coaster rolled into the station to tell everyone to chill the Turtle Time out and not ruin her birthday weekend. But of course, this became a thing. Heather told Luann de Lesseps and Carole Radziwill about the whole ordeal when they joined the group, and they were rightfully appalled.

Funnily enough, Heather was almost an hour late meeting up with the ladies to get dinner that night. Did she just lose track of the time, or did she do it just to spite everyone? Heather's a smart girl. I choose to believe she knew what she was doing.
