1D's Louis Tomlinson Talks Zayn Malik Feud

by Jaclyn Anglis

Directioners tuning in to the band's appearance on Late Late Show With James Corden all knew this would be a telling moment about the band's future, since it is their first official appearance since Zayn Malik left the group. Luckily, Corden addressed the elephant in the room pretty early on in the show. Corden said One Direction should talk about the fact that there are four of them now, since Malik has left the band. He asked the guys how it was with Malik gone, addressing Louis Tomlinson directly right away. It makes sense, considering Tomlinson's recent Twitter feud with Naughty Boy, Malik's new producer, and Malik's response that Tomlinson was making "b****y comments" about his life.

"There's been a bit of back and forth," Tomlinson admitted to Corden. "I’ve never been good at biting me tongue. I get it off my mum. It’s just one of those things, you know. Twitter’s is great at connecting with fans, but if you feel like saying something that you probably shouldn’t, it’s also good for that as well — in this case." But he said that he thinks he and Malik are on "good terms." Corden asked Tomlinson if he has been in contact with Malik since the social media fiasco, and Tomlinson nodded quickly, saying, "It's all resolved."

When asked how the boys in general felt when Malik announced that he wanted to leave the band, Liam Payne said that they were angry at first, but now, there are no hard feelings. "I think we all knew the vibe that Zayn was feeling," he said. "You could sort of tell. From the outside people could tell as well. There are certain parts of this job that Zayn loved, and there are certain parts of this job that he didn’t. And if you don’t like your job, you’ve got to follow your heart sometimes and go where you need to go. And there’s no arguing with that. Like I say, we were angry at first, and then it was more just a bit disappointed. We wish him the best of luck with whatever he gets up to and stuff, and there’s no hard feelings. It’s just going to, you know, carry on as usual."

Harry Styles revealed he did not think of hiring a replacement. And Niall Horan confirmed that the four of them loved every part of the band. Luckily, it seems like the band is ready to move on from the feud. It does not sound like they are BFF status again, but hopefully this is a sign that there will be minimal drama in the future.
