The 18 Best TV/Movie Reunions of 2013

When the people of the future look back at this generation, it'll be easy to sum it up in one word: nostalgia. Whether it's the fashion — crop tops, leggings, and baggy sweaters — the celebrities — Melissa Joan Hart, Robert Downey Jr., Betty White — or the TV shows — Mad Men, the Americans, The Goldbergs, all set in older times — this decade has spent a substantial amount of time revisiting the past and reveling in the idea of nostalgia.

And that's not even mentioning the reunions. Over the past few years, but without a doubt most prominently in 2013, seemingly every beloved but long-gone TV show, movie, and band has seen its cast or members reunited, thrilling fans and nostalgia-loving people across the country. Whether it was the Full House cast coming together to celebrate Uncle Jesse's birthday, The West Wing ensemble reuniting hilariously on Twitter, or the Backstreet Boys going on tour after a years-long hiatus, this past year was all about looking back. Out of all the amazing reunions that occurred this year, here are Bustle's picks for the 18 best reunions of 2013 — and believe us, there were plenty for us to choose from.

1. 'Full House'

Technically, the biggest and best of the Full House cast's many reunions occurred in 2012, when the gang came together (minus the Olsen twins) to celebrate the show's 25th (!) anniversary. Yet this year, members of the cast reunited so many times that we'd like to think of 2013 as the Year of Full House Nostalgia. Between Jesse and the Rippers performing on Fallon (and John Stamos kissing Lori Loughlin), Candace Cameron Bure posting an adorable collage of her friendship with Andrea Barber, and much of the cast helping John Stamos celebrate his 50th birthday, it seemed the ensemble was just as eager to reunite as fans were to see them together again.

2. 'The West Wing'

It's been three years since the cast of The West Wing melted fans' hearts by reuniting for an Entertainment Weekly special, but it looks like the love between the show's ensemble is still alive and well. In May, a Funny or Die PSA was released featuring Martin Sheen, Allison Janney, Dulé Hill, Joshua Malina and Melissa Fitzgerald reunited, in character, made to spread the word about the benefits of walking. As if that wasn't good enough, in August, when Janney joined Twitter, castmate Richard Schiff tweeted his hello. Within hours, Molina, Hill, Mary McCormack and more had chimed in, and West Wing fans got another opportunity to rejoice over the cast's hilarious, perfect chemistry.

On a May episode of The Ellen Show, Friends stars Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry, and Courteney Cox co-starred in a video promoting Aniston's short-term gig as Ellen co-host.
