An Anna Kendrick Covers Album NEEDS To Happen

Y'all are as pumped for Pitch Perfect 2 as I am, right? I don't really know anyone who isn't losing their mind with excitement over this movie (which, thankfully, opens today), and for good reason: it's aca-awesome. With an incredible cast including Rebel Wilson, Elizabeth Banks and Anna Kendrick just to name a few, it's full of singing, dancing, and a ton of heart and humor. There simply has never been another movie like the it and I'm so glad it exists. But let's get down to the nitty gritty and talk about Kendrick for a minute, if we can. You know how she released "Cups" and it got really popular and was constantly on the radio and at the top of the charts? Well, that's because it's amazing and she's got a great voice. So why hasn't she released an album yet?

Of course, acting seems to be Kendrick's main passion (though she also has a mean penchant for lip syncing) and singing just seems to be a talent she has — another notch in her "I'm Amazing, Get Over It" belt. But a voice that good deserves to be heard, and not only that, it deserves to be captured in cover album form and released to the masses so we can all listen to it repeatedly, just like we did with "Cups".

So Anna, if you're listening, get into a recording booth and make sure to include these 7 songs on your covers album.

Blackstreet - "No Diggity"

This one's a no brainer considering Kendrick (as Beca) did a killer version of this in the first Pitch Perfect movie. This is no acapella game, though — she needs full beats and lush production to bring this to life on her album.

Taylor Swift - "Shake It Off"

Who wouldn't want to cover this song? "Shake It Off" is an anthem for girls who DGAF everywhere, and Kendrick certainly falls into that bracket in the best way possible. Add it to the tracklist!

One Direction - "The Story Of My Life"

Kendrick "covered" 1D's "Steal My Girl" on Lip Sync Battle, but let's get down to the nitty gritty and get her doing the band's inspirational ballad because she'll totally bring a new life to it.

Sia - "Chandelier"

Sure, Sia's got a unique voice that's hard to match, but "Chandelier" is a modern classic and Kendrick's voice has the right subtlety and vulnerability to bring new emotion out of this song in a way that wouldn't diminish the original but just compliment it in the best way.

Alicia Keys - "No One"

I don't know why, but in my brain, Kendrick and Keys just seem to go hand in hand. "No One" would be a great song choice for her, given that it's upbeat but still soulful and would seem to mesh well with Kendrick's style and musical sensibilities (well, at least what I know of them).

Katy Perry - "Roar"

I don't know why I keep imagining Kendrick doing all these inspirational ballads, but come on, "Roar" is so good. It's grandiose and over-the-top and probably a lot of fun to sing. At least it is whenever I'm screaming along while I'm in the shower, so...

Pink - "Just Give Me A Reason"

I love Pink, and I love Kendrick, so why shouldn't Kendrick do a Pink song? The logic is sound on this one, guys. "Just Give Me A Reason" is a killer track and Kendrick would do a killer version, so it's a done deal.
