Will Rob Kardashian Be On 'KUWTK: About Bruce'?

by Maitri Suhas

After his historic interview with Diane Sawyer about transition, family, and identity, Bruce Jenner is returning with the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan Monday night with Keeping Up With The Kardashians: About Bruce. The episodes expand their focus to Bruce's journey, and paint the picture through the eyes of his family and children as they prepare, behind the scenes but in front of a camera, to make the announcement to the public. Bruce has been blessed with a wealth of support from his family; on Sunday night at the Billboard Music Awards, Kendall, 19, spoke to Guiliana Rancic about her dad, saying again she and her sisters are so proud of Bruce. "Honestly, I’ve never seen him happier. I was with him yesterday. That alone makes me so happy. To see him happy and to see him going through this and staying so strong, and really thinking about his kids is amazing." But one member of the family has been conspicuously absent from the conversation about Bruce. Will Rob Kardashian make an appearance on the Bruce special?

It looks like Kris Jenner has given us a hard "no" as an answer. She told Brooke Anderson of Entertainment Tonight at a charity event in Beverly Hills: "The reason we did it, and the sole reason, was just to show other people going through the same thing, what a family might do. And to give people hope, because we had never been through something like this before."

It's a powerful kind of transparency and invitation to the public to join in their journey and process that gives me newfound respect for Kris. But she also told Anderson of Rob, "His feelings were very private and to himself. He feels a little uncomfortable right now being on camera, so he's dealing with his own stuff."

Which is fine and fair: in such a private moment like this that is being presented to the public and scrutinized by the media (after the incredible 20/20 interview, Kris was accused of not responding with a comment, which set her rage off on Twitter, and rightly so). Rob did reach out and support Bruce publicly on his Twitter account after the interview, saying that Bruce always has been and always will be his role model. "I look up to you," he said.

We know the spotlight is going to be on the Kardashian-Jenners now more than ever, so maybe Rob will be able to address his experience more publicly in the future.
