Dita Von Teese Might Have Won the amfAR Gala

by Rosie Narasaki

All iterations of the amfAR Gala are pretty darn fabulous, but the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala in Cannes might just be the best of them all, what with all of the cutting-edge silhouettes and high-risk, high-reward fashion going on. We've already seen some amazing outfits, from Gigi Hadid's very cleavage-y white Tom Ford dress to Chanel Iman's stunningly balletic white and nude Zuhair Murad ball gown, but best of all, might just be Dita Von Teese, rocking her trademark pinup glam in some darn-cool Ulyana Sergeenko Couture.

It's not the first time she's worn the fashion house. Von Teese actually wore a similarly drama-infused gown at the amfAR Inspiration Gala in Hollywood, as well as a stunning black velvet tea-length dress at the 2013 amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala. She's certainly showed a lot of brand loyalty, and the designer/celebrity partnership actually makes a lot of sense — after all, they share a retro aesthetic that leans a little costume-y (and of course, a wasp waist is a must).

Von Teese's latest Ulyana Sergeenko dress itself is nothing short of perfection. It's ice blue (and impeccably fitted, of course), with a unique and eye-catching tasseled Russian-inspired print and a striking silhouette — and the styling is (if possible) even more on point. She paired the look with her signature Old Hollywood waves, a deep red lip, some black velvet ankle strap peep-toe pumps, along with the prettiest, most glamorous, ruby necklace in the history of ever.

Von Teese is a pretty fabulous lady who's worn countless pretty fabulous outfits over the years, but this? This might just be her magnum opus.
