Couple Celebrates 57th Anniversary In The Hospital

Summer's almost here and love is in the air. Not necessarily for me (#TeamForeverAlone over here), but for this couple celebrating their 57th anniversary love is really blossoming. If you're down on your romance luck, maybe this will help you believe in a thing called love. (Or maybe it will just get an annoying song from 2003 stuck in your head.) Regardless, this couple is about to bring some serious tingly, gooey romantic feelings into your life. The cheese factor is high, but it's high risk, high reward in that there's a good chance it will bring happy tears to your eyes if you stick with me.

James "Jim" Russell visited his wife Ellinor's hospital room on the day of their 57th anniversary wearing a tuxedo, carrying flowers and chocolate. Ellinor has been in the hospital for about a month, and the family decided it would be a perfect surprise to have an elaborate celebration for her anniversary.

This whole thing is presh to death, from start to finish: The tux wasn't just bringing a James Bond vibe—it was the tux Jim wore when the couple went ballroom dancing, which they used to do every weekend. Ellinor's two granddaughter's did her make-up for the occasion. The couple ate together in Ellinor's hospital room and watched their two favorite shows, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, together.

Here are the most aw-worthy pictures you'll ever see, courtesy of their granddaughter's Twitter:

Jim and Ellinor grew up in neighboring towns in Georgia. He's known her "since she was in pigtails," he told ABC News. Jim served in World War II, after military college. They eloped in 1958. (THEY ELOPED, I LOVE THEM SO MUCH.)

And if you're starting to think this sounds like a Lifetime Original Movie, you're not wrong. But alas, it's just a tear jerker in real life.

Elinor said she loved the celebration because “being in a hospital bed, you get bored so when they came in, it made me smile like the younger days when we were dancing.”
