Is This Amal's Best Look Ever?

by Rosie Narasaki

There's no denying Amal Clooney's fashion icon status: She's proved again and again that her street style is the tops, her lacy Oscar de la Renta wedding dress was all but unforgettable, and she's basically twins with the ever-stylish Taylor Swift — and I mean, for god's sake, she even has a bag named after her. That said, her latest ensemble gives even her ball gown of a wedding dress a serious run for its money: Ms. Clooney just attended the Tokyo premiere of Tomorrowland wearing gold bias-cut Maison Martin Margiela, and it might just be her best look ever.

The latest Disneyland-inspired film is still a bit shrouded in mystery (it's hard to glean much from the trailers, besides how attractive George Clooney is), but who cares what havoc the futuristic Tomorrowland might wreak when right here, right now, Amal is dressed to kill in custom-made Maison Martin Margiela? The dress itself was designed by John Galliano (he became Creative Director of the fashion house last October), who seems to be slowly making his way back into the public's collective hearts after that infamous anti-semitic rant — and really, what better way to ingratiate yourself to the public than through a truly beautiful gown made specially for today's most fashionable barrister? The dress is quite the work of art, and Amal wears it like no one else could. Let's take a look:

Nothing short of breathtaking, no? The bias cut (together with the button detailing down the side, and the orchid on the neckline) makes the whole thing look like molten gold straight out of the 1930s — and it's kind of the prettiest dress I've seen in my entire life.
