These Beach Music Videos Will Get You Summer-Ready

by Tracy Dye

As the temperature increases, so do our appetites for some hot summer jams to rock out to. Not only does the hottest season bring with it a slew of beachy tracks and music videos. Obviously not all of us live own beachside property, or live in walking distance to some cerulean waves. Still, planning a trip to the beach is as big of a summer staple as cookouts. Crashing waves, boardwalk rides, and teeny umbrellas in cocktails are all elements of the perfect beach day, and some of the music industry's biggest stars seem to get this memo whenever the time comes to dish out a new sunshine-laden hit.

We don't all have the luxury of a spontaneous beach day, and — for many of us — the days of having a legit "summer vacation" ended a while ago. Never fear, though! There are a smorgasbord of music videos out for your binge-watching pleasure that feature beaches, boardwalks, and other summer staples we can all live vicariously through. Several may even give you a few ideas for your next beach trip, whenever that would be (no rush, of course — do you). Let's take a look at some of the best beach music videos that had us itching to put our feet in the sand.

Katy Perry, "California Gurls"

Not only does this make me want to go to the beach ASAP, it also makes me really nostalgic for candy buttons.

LFO, "Summer Girls"

I'm not totally sure what these guys are talking about for a majority of this song, but the beat is addictive and that summer backdrop makes me ready to pack my beach bag like a BOSS.

98 Degrees, "Because Of You"

Our boys from 98 Degrees are traveling all over the place in this music video. Pay close attention to the parts where they're crooning (Nick Lachey is totally singing to me, btw) on the beach and you'll be ready to feel your feet in the sand.

Len, "Steal My Sunshine"

This video is bound to make you want some beach time along with a ginormous stick of cotton candy.

John Travolta & Olivia Newton-John, "Summer Nights"

Although they're not at the beach during the video, seeing everyone get that uproariously excited over a beachy romance makes me want to sprint to the rolling waves ASAP and seek out my own Danny Zuko.

Yellowcard, "Ocean Avenue"

With lines like "let your waves crash down and take me away" and "we would walk on the beach in our bare feet" being played over scenes on frontman Ryan Key on an endless chase, you just hope he's going to end up at that beach he keeps singing about.

Calvin Harris, "Summer"

Not only is this the quintessential summer anthem, the video makes you want a beach trip followed by a pool party.

Christina Aguilera, "Genie In A Bottle"

Aguilera let's her inner genie out to have the best beach day (night?) ever in this late '90s music video.

Britney Spears, "Sometimes"

Wherever Spears is running and hiding, it's definitely not from that panoramic beach setting in this summery music video.

One Direction, "Beautiful"

How "Beautiful" does the ocean in this video look? Right?! And the fact that the boys from One Direction are singing around all that sand and those crashing waves is just the icing on the cake.

Jessica Simpson, "I Think I'm In Love"

What better place to think you're in love with someone than a sweet beach and accompanying boardwalk? Summer romance, anyone?
