Nina Dobrev Embraces Unruly Hair & No Makeup

by Jessica Willingham

Nina Dobrev's summer beauty secrets are guaranteed to keep you looking pretty on hot, sultry summer days, but also super comfortable and care-free. That's because Nina Dobrev is a believer in unruly curls and minimal makeup, according to a recent interview with StyleCaster. Dobrev just wrapped up life as a sexy vixen in The Vampire Diaries, and now she's living out our summer bucket-list: a long road trip with friends. She dished to StyleCaster about the favorite beauty products she couldn't leave behind.

"I like to go as natural as possible," Dobrev said about her off-screen beauty routine."I don’t like to wear too much makeup, especially in my day-to-day life. If I want to punch it up, I’ll do a cat-eye. A cat-eye is always fun. Otherwise for the most part, a little bit of mascara, and I’m good to go."

During her well-documented road trip, Dobrev is embracing fresh air. "I really keep it down to a minimum when I’m on the road," she said. "Being fresh, especially after coming off of a TV show where I have makeup every day, all day for 15 hours a day, 9 months a year. It’s been so freeing to kind of wear no makeup and let my skin breathe for the first time and have my hair unruly and crazy curly. I walk out of the shower and go and don’t care. It’s very liberating."

For all her low-maintenace living, Dobrev does have one high-end beauty treatment she's dying to try. "There is something called a Vampire Facial. I don’t even know how it works, and blood scares me. It’s ironic. I was on a vampire show, but I’m deathly terrified of blood and there is this thing called a Vampire Facial that I want to try. But I don’t know. It seems so weird and scary that I feel like I need to try and see what it is."

It only seems right that an actress who spent the past six seasons as a vampire on the CW's mega hit series should want a Vampire Facial. We can only hope she Instagrams it!
