This Skincare Device Analyzes Your Skin In A Snap

by Stephanie Chon

There's no question that South Korean skincare products have been booming in popularity recently. South Korean skincare lines are packed with natural ingredients to improve and maintain your skin, but it’s often difficult to figure out which products are best for you — especially since all the product descriptions are written in Korean. But luckily, there’s a way called, well, Way, a skincare device that can analyze your skin in three seconds. Yes, it's also created by South Korean dermatologists.

We’re constantly suffocating our faces with makeup on the daily and even though we’re exfoliating and rehydrating with masks, let’s face it (pun intended), there is probably so much about our skin that we don’t know. That’s where Way comes in. It’s kinda like a pocket dermatologist that wirelessly pairs to your smartphone via Bluetooth and the companion app.

By just touching your cheek for three Mississippi-seconds long with the device, the UV Index, humidity sensors, and Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) sensor creates a comprehensive analysis of your skin’s health along with any recommendations for your skin. The BIA sensor reads the moisture and oil content levels of your skin while the UV Index and humidity sensors read your environmental setting. After analyzing your environment, it can then accurately advise you to remoisturize or to apply sunscreen by popping up little notifications on your phone.

The device is currently being crowdfunded on Indiegogo and has already exceeded its target goal of $50,000 and the numbers are only increasing. There are still 28 more days left in its crowdfunding so you can snag a Way for $99 on their Indiegogo page.
