Bennifer II Isn't Going Anywhere, Guys

by Lisa Fogarty

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner have been married since 2005 and are the parents of three children — Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel. They've never had a public blowout, neither has ever said anything less than lovely about the other publicly, and yet Affleck and Garner have been plagued by divorce rumors almost since the day they tied the knot. The latest tidbit about Garner, 43, and Affleck, 42, is that they've been living separately for many years, as the New York Daily News reports. According to the the Daily News' source — aka the worst family "friend" and neighbor anyone could ever have — the two have been like "two ships passing in the night" since the days they all used to hang out with Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana Barroso, in Brentwood.

Maybe I'm in denial because I refuse to let this couple go — despite knowing a few random facts about each of them, I am convinced they are perfect for one another. In my mind, he brings out her silly side and is happy to work hard so that she can embrace the stay-at-home lifestyle she seems to enjoy, and she encourages him to take on difficult work projects. And they're forever singing each other's praises in public. Seriously, what's the problem, you guys? Don't even think of separating — you can get through anything!

As proof, I offer these 11 Affleck/Garner quotes that show the couple aren't getting divorced. Never ever.

1. She Inspires Him To Be A Better Man

"My wife was definitely around then," Affleck told Playboy. "Getting to know her, falling in love with her and being connected with her gave me a foundation to reach out and say, 'Okay, I'm going to do Hollywoodland. I'm going to direct Gone Baby Gone. Those were the steps forward I needed to put positive things on the board."

2. He Considers Her The "Most Important Person" In His Life

"She is by leaps and bounds the most important person to me in that respect," Affleck also told Playboy. "Over the past 10 years she has allowed me to have a stable home life while accomplishing my professional goals."

3. She's One Hell Of A Supportive Partner

"Once I'd made it, the most critical thing was that she said, 'If you're going to work 24 hours a day, that's cool. I'm going to be here,'" Affleck told Playboy. "That allowed me to think, Okay, that's what I'm going to do. I'm going to kill myself over this next period of time."

4. Garner Is Affleck's Biggest Fan

Garner proved in an interview with The Telegraph that she has a healthy attitude about making sacrifices for Affleck and her family: "I definitely work less because Ben is so busy, but we have three kids, that's just part of the deal. I want to be a mum. I'm happy for him that he's as energized about work right now as he is. He should be out there doing it. That's just what makes sense for our family."

5. She Still Finds Him Sexy As Hell

Discussing Affleck's full-frontal scene in Gone Girl on The Ellen DeGeneres show: "Yeah, it was a discussion. He came home and he was like, 'Hey, uh at work today Fincher talked me into walking out of the shower,' and I was like, 'Oh cool, I hope he had on a wide lens." Well said, Jen.

6. He Dedicates Important Speeches To Her & Their Children

Affleck had the following to say about Garner while accepting an Academy Award for Best Picture for Argo : "I want to thank you for working on our marriage for 10 Christmases. It's good. It is work, but the best kind of work, and there's no one I'd rather work with."

7. He Cares So Much For Her Feelings, He Clarified That Oscars Speech

"All relationships, to a certain extent, require your work," Affleck explained after his Academy Awards speech. "We work on it together, we try our best, nobody's perfect. She's more perfect than I am."

8. But She Knows Him So Well, She Doesn't Need An Explanation

Garner spoke with The Telegraph about Affleck's Academy Awards speech (which she admits spurred friends to call and ask if everything was okay in their marriage), and said, "I know Ben, I knew he meant it as the hugest, warmest compliment in the world. I think he was saying, 'Look, what we have is really real and I value it above all and I'm in it with you and I know you are in it with me.' That’s the way I took it."

9. She Understands & Accepts His Hunk Status

Garner knows there are two Ben Afflecks — there's the guy we all salivate over but don't know from Adam, and her husband Ben. While interviewing Garner for InStyle, a reporter ran into Affleck after making plans to exercise with his wife. Her quick response made it known she's in on the joke of his celebrity: "How bummed are you that you thought you were just working out with me, and now you have to exercise in front of Ben Affleck?"

10. They're Confident Enough To Joke About Their Marriage

"By the way, she won most of the fights in the movie," the actor told Playboy about Daredevil. "Which was a pretty good predictor of what would happen down the road — my wife, holding swords and beating the living s--t out of me."

11. He Wants More Kids With Her

Anyone still think Affleck is too much a wild card to be happy settling down with a big family? Garner told The Telegraph she was the one who had to put the brakes on more kids: "I am done. I really don't see how I could have more. My husband was keen on a fourth, but I think he has come round to my way of thinking."

Bennifer II forever!
