Varying Heel Heights Let You Choose Comfort

by Dana Reszutek

Good news for shoe overs — designers hear your pleas for comfort and style. According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, shoe designers are now making styles in varying levels of heel height, so you can pick your poison and be comfortable at the same time.

High-end brands like Dolce & Gabanna and Roger Vivier are offering their chic designs in different versions, from towering stilettos to simple flats, giving the wearer a bigger selection in the same style and allowing comfort to be a true factor when it comes to selecting footwear. Innovative designer Tanya Heath has even created a shoe that comes with adjustable heels! That's right, one shoe, with heels that can switched out to heights varying from 4 cm to 9 cm. If this isn't genius technology, I don't know what is.

Though many love a good heel now and then (including myself, who loves to rock a stiletto as a tall female), it's nice to know that there are shoes out there I can actually walk in for more than ten minutes without my toes going numb, or feeling like my ankles will snap any second. And with the Cannes red carpet heel requirement still fresh in our minds, let's take a moment to appreciate some of the more comfortable, yet just as stylish, low-heel shoes available.

1. Strappy Sandal with Geometric Heel

These strappy sandals provide an edgy look with a unique heel, with a shape that gives far more support than the typical stiletto.
