Kanye West's Latest Rant About Fashion Is Spot-On

by Dana Reszutek

Kanye West is back — and no, his latest album (with latest title) SWISH, hasn't dropped. West delivered another trademark Kanye rant when he visited Los Angeles Trade-Technical College (LATTC) yesterday, and this time it was all about fashion and design. I couldn't be more excited — after all, who doesn't love a good Kanye rant, am I right?

This time, West shared words of wisdom with the students of LATTC working towards entering the field of fashion at their biannual Gold Thimble Fashion Show. According to a report by Entertainment Tonight, West's speech leaned towards the motivational side, taking the time to point out his admiration towards artists in the fashion industry who put in the work, and can actually make clothes and sew. "I respect people who have taken their time to really learn and hone a craft," West says.

But it's not a Kanye West speech without mentioning the haters — and let's face it, he has a lot of them. "You're going to prepare yourself for politics, bad bosses, hating employees — and usually when you're the absolute best, you get hated on the most," West says. And for West, who just recently became a major player in the industry, this seems pretty accurate. The more recognition you receive, the more haters you have.

As Yeezy rants go, this one is overall not only true, but pretty great as well. For a superstar artist like West to take the time to mentor and speak to students with dreams of fashion, that's huge. I mean let's face it, who else would you want to be your personal motivational speaker? No one else? That's what I thought.

So in celebration of a great rant, and a potential Talyor Swift-Kanye West collaboration, I'm just going to leave this here...

Sounds like Kanye should heed his old rival's advice and "shake it off."
