Stop Being Mean to Justin Timberlake

Poor JT. I feel like he needs a hug, or a pat on the head or something. Can we all just collectively agree to stop being mean to this guy? I mean, look at him — how could anyone be mean to that face? It seems he himself doesn't know either, judging by this new interview with GQ. In it, Justin Timberlake commented on "mean" comments that magazines sometimes make about him, saying he's not "cut out" for the "vitriol" in Hollywood.

Apparently, the comments were in response mainly to an article that Variety ran after Runner, Runner (a movie he did with another sensitive soul, Ben Affleck) tanked in the box office, which was titled, "Why Justin Timberlake Should Stop Acting." He also references an article that Billboard ran about his latest album, The 20/20 Experience: 2 of 2, in which they called it a "double whammy." Ouch.

"Where did all this vitriol come from? It's mean. And I'm not cut out for it," he said. "The movie didn't do well at the box office, so I should quit? Hold on a second... if I was somebody else, you wouldn't have said that. I have the number one album this week, and I shouldn't have released it? Come on, man. You sound like a dickhead."

You know you need to reevaluate your life when Justin Timberlake calls you a dickhead. "It just shocked me because, like, you’re trade magazines. None of your opinions count. And by the way, none of you can do it."

So, guys, please stop being mean to JT. It's hurting the poor guy, and even if Runner, Runner was bad — remember The Social Network? He was great in that. JT has feelings too, OK? At least GQ named him man of the year.

There, there, big guy.
