L'Oréal & Proenza Schouler Team Up For a Perfume

by Eliza Florendo

There's another designer perfume cookin', and this time, it's not our beloved Azzedine Alaïa behind it. Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler team up with L'Oréal to create a new line of fragrances, and I can't wait to see (or smell, rather) what the American-cool designers come up with. Bring on the scents!

L'Oréal announced on Wednesday that they've "signed a long-term license agreement" with the fashion duo, according to WWD. Though it's recent news, the pair have reportedly been thinking about releasing a fragrance for a while. “Working on a fragrance has always been a dream of ours, and we could not have imagined that one day we would be given the chance to do so with the world leaders in the field,” McCollough and Hernandez said according to WWD.

And with an innovative duo of designers that have practically re-defined the meaning of a downtown cool girl, the L'Oréal team is thrilled. “Proenza Schoulder is one of the most inspiring brands in the fashion arena, redefining what it means to be a modern woman today,” said the international general manager of L'Oréal Designer Brand Fragrances Nathalie Durán.

When interviewed for the WWD's Six powerhouse brands of tomorrow, Hernandez and McCollough said that they were for investment to grow their brand, specifically in menswear and fragrance. And we're expecting an off-the-mill scent from Proenza, straying away from the cliché floral scent—after all, they did tell Style.com that "It's always good to piss some people off."
