7 Celeb Buzzcuts To Consider Copying This Summer

by Lauren Turner

When you're getting ready to make a big beauty change, it's easy to look to celebrities for style inspiration, to give you that extra boost of confidence you just may need. Ever since I started thinking about shaving my head, I've been mentally collecting my favorite female celebrity buzzcuts. That's right, buzzcuts. Whether it was done for a movie, or for life, it's great seeing celebrities that I already have respect for, make a beauty change that I'm sure changed their lives.

What started as an interest in styling a feminine shaved head turned into a #lifegoal of mine. After hearing a podcast about a woman wearing the same outfit every day, I recognized how much time, stress, and money I put into my hair. If I eliminated the problem, I would also be eliminating those other things, which seemed like a really good idea. And then I saw Charlize Theron in Mad Max: Fury Road and recognized that shaving my head was something I had to do. Theron was the epitome of a strong, but delicate feminine persona — one that I related to, a lot. I mean, not the amputated arm or badass driving skills, but the way that she broke down major gender stereotypes with just a razor.

No matter how much I loved her look, actually getting it done on myself is another story. So in the meantime, I'll just keep looking at my 7 favorite celebrity buzzcuts for motivation.

Charlize Theron

Otherwise known as Furiosa in the film, Theron looks like she was born to be bald. And since the movie was shot with such stunning cinematography, her eyes were really on display.

I can't say that I watch The Walking Dead, but when I see Gurira with hair, it doesn't seem right. I'm not saying she looks bad with hair because she's beautiful no matter what. But the short hair fits her like a glove.

Erykah Badu

I honestly don't think there is anything to say about her or this look on her. She's flawless, with or without hair. I want to be as flawlessly bald as she is.

Natalie Portman

If there ever needed to be an example of how bald could be soft and beautiful, Portman would be the place to look. She maintained her Miss Dior elegance and I loved it. This is me asking her to bring it back.

Amber Rose

Rose is the type of person that you either love or you hate, and lucky for me, I love her. I would feel totally badass if I could manage to not only shave my head, but if I dyed it a light color, like Rose.

Noémie Lenoir

Ever since Rush Hour 3, I've been in love with Lenoir's look. I mean, she's a true Parisian, and could've walked the runway after that shave job. And in this look, she's throwing out a seriously retro vibe that I love.

Solange

What started as a big chop, worked its way into her style. Solange stunned with a shaved head, and is even more stunning now with the healthy mane that resulted. One more reason to follow through.
