7 Times Mindy Kaling Was The Epitome Of Spring

by Lauren Turner

When you wear a lot of black, you tend to notice when others are way more colorful than you, especially when they do it on a daily basis. And to me, Mindy Kaling's bright wardrobe makes her exactly that person. On and off the set, she's almost always in something full of colors and it always suits her. I honestly would feel weird if I ever saw her in all black.

Maybe it's because I stick to a four shade color palette, but I can't help but be drawn to Kaling's wardrobe. From her book signings to her onscreen role playing doctor on The Mindy Project, to her philanthropic adventures and red carpet moments, Kaling is seriously the epitome of spring. Not only is she always wearing something that's as bright as a fresh bouquet, but she's always smiling. And with her new haircut, I feel like the good time won't ever stop coming.

What I find the most appealing about Kaling's style is the fact that she's so daring. For a lot of women outside of the sample sizes, wearing prints and bold colors can be problematic. But Kaling does it with ease and all of the confidence a girl needs. I think we should all take a note from her stylebook and try to absorb some of her self-love. Check out my favorite 7 Mindy Kaling looks that are sure to give you spring fever.

For perfect color combination that often gets done wrong, Kaling pulled this two-tone dress off flawlessly. Both colors look like she was born to wear them.

I have to say that I've never worn an emerald green like this (even though it's totally my birth stone), but I think Kaling should wear it more often, especially when she pairs it with such a deep plum lip.

Baroque can be too much sometimes, but it really works for Kaling here. I (obvi) love the color choice and the way it makes her skin glow.

I think this brings a hint of spring to the red carpet in a way that I would totally wear it. The combination of the almost smoky black and silver with the coral is a great way to wear color in the winter.

Light pastel blue is a beautiful color on its own, and even better when set up against Kaling's skin. And for someone with such great curves, she makes a shift dress work for her.

I couldn't make a list of her brightest looks without including this gem. The train is beautiful, the color is perfect, and the one-shoulder style really elongates her limbs to the fullest. She is a gem.

I never think about spring without thinking about pink. It's probably because I hold out on the few (literally two) pink things I have until the weather gets warm. But this is the color everyone needs at least one piece in.
