Vanessa Hudgens Dazzles At The Tony Awards

Vanessa Hudgens has gone from the halls of High School Musical to Broadway in Gigi. Since April, the 26-year-old actress has been starring in the Neil Simon Theater's revival as the title character, a carefree and free spirited Parisian teenager. And she dazzled as Gigi at the Tony Awards on Sunday night in her performance of "The Night They Invented Champagne" from the musical.

Hudgens' HSM co-star Ashley Tisdale introduced the number, calling Hudgens her best friend and showing that Wildcats support each other throughout the years. The performance was a hugely acrobatic and energetic number with lots of twirling, leaping, and — of course — champagne. Afterward, the cast joined hosts Alan Cumming and Kristin Chenoweth for some bubbly backstage.

Gigi actress Victoria Clark's nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Musical is the show's sole Tony nomination this year. Earlier in the week, Hudgens excitedly shared a photo of her with mom and co-star Corey Scott from rehearsals on Instagram. "Look mom! I made it!!!!!" she captioned the photo with, yes, that many exclamation marks. "Rehearsing with @gigionbroadway at Radio City Music Hall for @thetonyawards!!!!!!!!"

And judging from her Instagram photos, she's having a blast, living it up in New York City. Hudgens has snaps of her hanging with soldiers from Fleet Week, posing with a magazine cover of herself on a newstand, and, of course, spending a lovely summer weekend in the Hamptons. All New York City musts.

Hudgens' IG is right, she's made it — and she has come a long way from her days as Gabriella Montes in Disney Channel's hit High School Musical movies.
