Remembering Mary Ellen Trainor's Best Moments

When it comes to iconic films in the '80s, there are few actresses who have appeared in as many as Mary Ellen Trainor — the movie industry lost a very bright star on Monday morning when Trainor passed away at her home at the age of 62. She is best known for her work in many action-comedy classics including The Goonies, Romancing the Stone, Die Hard, Ghostbusters II and Lethal Weapon (I-IV). She also had cameos in Back to the Future II and Forrest Gump. In television, Trainor appeared as Diane Evans from 1999-2002 in the sci-fi drama Roswell .

Trainor attended San Diego State University and studied broadcast journalism. She quickly jumped into being an on-air personality for local radio stations and that introduced her to the entertainment industry. Her acting career jump started in 1983 when she appeared in an episode of Cheers and she continued to work in television and film until 2008 in the made for TV movie McBride:Requiem. Throughout her work in Hollywood, Trainor appeared alongside some of the industry's biggest names including Bruce Willis, Kathleen Turner, Josh Brolin, Bill Murray and Michael Douglas.
