Cara D. Perfectly Pairs Retro With Modern

by May Sofi

It has been a little while since Cara D. slayed the runway, but that doesn't mean she can't still kill it in the personal style department. Cara Delevingne wore a retro-meets-modern ensemble to the Stella McCartney Spring 2016 preview in New York City, demonstrating exactly how to nail model-off duty style, and we should all be taking notes.

The theme of the swanky garden party presentation was classic Cuban-inspired looks that focused on bright colors and flowing silhouettes. Delevingne, however, opted for a more edgy mod design, totally going against the grain. Well, they don't call her fashion's favorite rebel for nothing!

The spunky supermodel donned a pair of black skin-tight ripped jeans with a black Stella McCartney varsity jacket. The vintage-y jacket featured bright pink horses embroidered at the top, and ivory detailing at the collar, pockets, and the cuffs. This cool retro piece combined with the casual distressed denim gave the entire ensemble an effortlessly chic quality that made it look super laid back and carefree.

Delevingne completed the outfit with black strappy stilettos and some seriously awesome statement sunglasses. The black and white sunnies featured an oversized cat eye frame, and totally pulled the whole look together. Check it out.

How sweet are those glasses?! If you're obsessing over them as much as I am, here are a few mod-inspired frames just like Cara's.
